Hey Fionavar,
When exactly do you get the ‘headers already sent’ error?
While activating my plugin, while running my plugin, …?
Which versions of my plugin and Jetpack are you using?
I double checked and my plugin is not sending 2 extra characters.
I also installed Jetpack on one of my own websites and didn’t get any error messages, everything works fine.
In other words: I was not able to reproduce the error.
Ciao!
Rolf
Hi Rolf,
It is when I activate the plugin. Whereupon the stat graph for Jetpack is broken. What can I do to help? Plugin v: 2.7.7

Hey Fionavar,
Thanks for your feedback!
When you activate my plugin and you get the ‘headers sent’ error, to me it sounds like another plugin already sent the headers + extra characters, which prevents my plugin to be activated correctly.
Please try:
1) deactivate ALL plugins for a moment and then activate only my plugin – does that give an error? does my plugin work?
2) then, deactivate my plugin (so at that moment NO plugins are activated), activate JetPack, check of the stats work
3) then, leave JetPack activated and activate my plugin too – any errors? Do both work?
Please let me know what happens for 1), 2) and 3)
Thanks!
Rolf
I still get the error. Also disabled the Theme. Sorry 😕

Hey Fiona,
Please try the three steps in my previous post and tell me per step what happens.
For instance: if step 2) still gives the error, then if proves it’s not my plugin causing the problem, and so on.
Thanks!
Rolf
Hi Rolf,
with everything deactivated and the default theme after activating Jetpack the next one I activate is yours and the error occurs with nothing else activated.

Hey Fiona,
Okay, thanks!
Can you also try it the other way for me?
Everything deactivated, then activate my plugin, test it and then activate JetPack?
Thanks for you help!
Ciao,
Rolf
Yep – no go. No matter whatever pattern I do this, the moment it is activated the error occurs.

Hey Fiona,
Pffffhhhhh… tough one to tackle!
Fact is: +/- 50,000 users are using my plugin and hundreds of thousands users are using JetPack, so if there really would be a compatibility issue, I would have had many reports and complaints… but so far you are the only one.
Makes it look like it’s something specific for your setup.
(Don’t get me wrong: I’m not blaming you for it! 😉 Just thinking out loud, trying to find out what the problem could be)
Okay, another thing you could try is to completely uninstall both plugins and then download and re-install both of them.
If that still doesn’t work we have to put WordPress into debug mode to see if that gives some more information…
But first try fully re-installing them and keep me posted.
Ciao!
Rolf
Heya Rolf
Well that worked! Deleting your plugin and reinstalling seemed to fix it! Thanks for your patience!
with thanks,
