Error with iThemes Security Digest

    Hi there
    I’m using WP Mail SMTP successfully with all emails sent from a site, including notifications, site lockout emails, etc from iThemes.
    However, for some reason, it will not send the iThemes daily security digest. I get the following:
    Module Notification Center
    Type Error
    Description Sending Notification Failed
    Notification Security Digest
    Error SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.
    Timestamp 2019-11-18 21:36:55

    I’ve been on to iThemes, and I’ve tried all their suggestions of deleting the iThemes plugin and reinstalling and many other adjustments, but they now say it’s WP Mail SMTP problem. But as I said, WP Mail SMTP sends all other emails from iThemes with no trouble. I’m stumped, so would appreciate your help! Cheers, James Hammond

    Hi James,

    If the last email sent from your site fails, WP Mail SMTP logs the error and displays on your dashboard as a notice. When you get a chance, could you please share that error after sending the daily security digest email? The error from the iThemes indicates the error with authentication, do you have any other SMTP settings somewhere within other plugins?

    Hi Sanjeev, and many thanks for this.
    After consulting Plesk on possibly some kind of server issue, they moved the site to a different path on the server, and it’s now working correctly! Neither of us could figure out where some kind of conflict occurred, especially as WP Mail SMTP was sending all other emails, so this is a mystery, but hopefully now functioning correctly. Sorry to have bothered you, but believe me I had tried everything else! Cheers, James.
