• I haven’t installed any new plugins recently, but my WP installation has run into a unique error.

If I attempt to upload media through WP, I get the following error after the image uploads:

Unable to create directory /var/www/vhosts/typecastfilms.com/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/2010/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Also, if I attempt to view an image that has been previously uploaded, I get the following error:

    Forbidden

You do not have permission to access this document.

I’ve logged in as root and CHMOD-ed the wp-content/uploads folder to 766 recursed into all subdirectories and files, but to no avail.

    Help?

  • Hi,

Assign 755 recursive permissions to wp-content directory of your blog which will resolve the issue.

    Thanks,

I have assigned recursive permissions to 755 as directed. Now, my images are no longer forbidden, but I still cannot upload new images:

The uploaded file could not be moved to /var/www/vhosts/typecastfilms.com/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/2010/01.

    Thank you for the help!
