  • I cannot replicate the error when adding a new block style using register_block_style like you do, and then creating a Paragraph, and adding that Paragraph to the Reusable Blocks.

It works just fine. I can create and use the Blue Paragraph and also add, and re-use it to/from Repeatable Blocks.

So the error you see must be due to something else. Perhaps a plugin, theme or other type of code that interferes.
Try disabling Plugins, and change Theme, to see if that is the case.

Or, perhaps I don’t follow the proper steps to replicate, in this case please elaborate on your steps so we can easily see the same issue.

Also what might give more clues is if you “copy the error” when the “The editor has encountered an unexpected error” happens. There is a button to copy the error, which could give more insight into what is failing.

Finally enabling and controlling WP Debug also could give further insight into what is failing.

    Thanks for the comment.

The symptoms are also present in the new state where WordPress is initialized.
I am not using any plugins.
It is the same with simple themes, twenty Twenty-One, etc.

When I press “Coppy Error”, I mainly get the following statement

Error: An error occurred while running 'mapSelect': Cannot read property 'name' of null
The error may be correlated with this previous error:
TypeError: Cannot read property 'name' of null

We have confirmed the improvement in WordPress 5.8.
    Thank you.
