# Error with 404 error

 * Hello all,
 * Have noticed a strange occurance with a clients’ site. WordPress displays just
   code (starting from halfway through the footer!) instead of my 404 page, when
   an incorrent url is used.
 * eg: [http://www.seaholmemarquees.co.uk/notapage](http://www.seaholmemarquees.co.uk/notapage)
 * Any ideas, i’m stumpped?
 * My guess, is that it’s somthing to do with the custom permalink structure. But
   iv’e no idea what!

 * It does indeed. but even if it didn’t this would be a strange result!
 * I’ve seen somthing similar in the past where there has been a conflict btween
   page names and custom taxonomies

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
