# error while restoring db

 * hi there
    by using source command i got this error:
 *     ```
       ERROR 1231 (42000): Variable 'character_set_client' can't be set to the value of
       'NULL'
       Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)
   
       ERROR 1231 (42000): Variable 'collation_connection' can't be set to the value of
       'NULL'
       mysql>
       ```
   
 * and by using mysqldump got this:
    ` ERROR 2006 (HY000) at line 5418: MySQL server
   has gone away’

 * used this command for back up, solved my problem:
 * `mysqldump -u root dbname > bkname.sql --hex-blob`
