# Error when uploading pictures

 * I get this error when I try to upload a picture from the write new page screen.
 * “Unable to create directory /home/de95/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2006/03.
   Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

 * _Is its parent directory writable by the server?_
    meaning is the wp-content 
   folder writable? (chmod=666)

 * Thanks Moshu for responding. I just changed the permissions on the folderr to
   666 and tried to up load a picture again and got this message
 * “Warning: is_dir(): Stat failed for /home/de95/public_html/wp-content/uploads/
   2006 (errno=13 – Permission denied) in /home/de95/public_html/wp-includes/functions-
   post.php on line 869

 * Try 777 and alternatively ask your host about that “errno=13”.
    Or, google for
   it…

 * I did change it to 777 nothing happened. When I did the upload it created the
   folder “uploads” I had to set the permissions on this folder to 777 and now it
   works, thank you very much.
