 * After having updated my theme (Divi) I got the following message:
 * “Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.
   org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please
   try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to
   WordPress.org. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home3/myname/public_html/
   wp-includes/update.php on line 306”
 * What should I do about it?
    Thank you!

 * Hi paola4! I have many clients running the Divi theme. I can likely help with
   this issue. There are a number of possible causes. [Redacted asking for logins][

 * [@paola4](https://wordpress.org/support/users/paola4/): This error can appear
   when WordPress.org has a brief period where it undergoes server maintenance.
   This should not be an ongoing issue and you should be able to update your theme
   again soon.

 * [@paola4](https://wordpress.org/support/users/paola4/) : Konstantin’s reply is
   likely the answer you’re looking for. 🙂
 * [@jhample](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jhample/) : Thank you for trying
   to help. But providing unsolicited links to your own product / service isn’t
   what we want here. Help people genuinely and they may engage your service through
   clicking on the link that we do allow on profiles 🙂
 * Also, about asking for admin access –
 * Please don’t do that: when you offer to get admin access and/or FTP access then
   you’re really going too far and that’s not cool.
 * [https://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#The_Bad_Stuff](https://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#The_Bad_Stuff)
 * If you are given admin credentials, you are potentially liable for any potential
   damage that maybe caused, not only by yourself but anyone accessing the system.
   Even if you do not provide warranty with your own product.
 * Unless you’re willing to take responsibility for that user’s installation from
   now on (and they should NOT let you do that) then please do not ask or suggest
   that someone provide you those admin or FTP details.
 * You can provide assistance here, ask for log data, you can make recommendations
   and even suggest changes. But do not seek admin or FTP access. That’s just going
   too far.
