Error when trying to go to Import CSV page

I’m trying to use the WooCommerce CSV import: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-importer-exporter/

The rest of the site works fine. But for some reason this page gives me a redirect loop:

https://mysite.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=product

The page isn’t redirecting properly

An error occurred during a connection to infosho.com.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

I read on a forum that sometimes the theme demo import plugins can cause issues , but I’ve disabled every single plugin and it still doesn’t work! Checking in **Developer Tool** in FF I see:

Its the same domain / protocol:

https://mysite.com

(i.e not sometimes http or https, and no www. in any of them).

I’m not sure what else to try. Any suggestions are much welcome!

Happy to help!

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble getting the Import CSV page to work.

Based on the details you provided, I think the issue might be caused by a conflict with a theme or plugin. I noticed you said you’d tried disabling plugins, so it’d be great if you do that while switching to a default theme at the same time.

The best way to determine if there is a conflict is to:

Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

If that doesn’t help, I’m wondering if the cookie issue is related to your browser (though I think it’s more likely related to a PHP script on the site). Could you please using a different browser to open the Import CSV page and see if that helps?

Thanks for the reply. I have tested going to a standard theme, as well as disabling all the plugins. Unfortunatly it still has the same issue 🙁 I have also tested it in a different browser, as well as a “Private Window” (in case it was a cache issue), and still the problem persists. As you can see, its just multiple requests one after the other, until eventually the browser cuts out

Hi @andynewby,

Thanks for sending that over. That is puzzling. I’ve not looked at access logs from an import before. It looks like there is a redirect in them. Are there any redirects set on the server?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Seeing as the job was time sensitive, I ended up doing a full build of WP and WooCommerce. I wiped all the files, and did a fresh install. No changes on the server. Sure enough, it worked this time. So I guess that rules out the server has been the issue – so not sure what else would be causing that loop (the rest of the site worked fine).

Anyhow, I’ve got it working now – and fingers crossed it won’t break when we start rebuilding the website now 🙂
