Just today I started having the following problem with my SQL database. I talked to my host (GoDaddy), and they said my queries were timing out and that I needed to “re-index” or “index” my tables, whatever that is. Does that seem right?
When I post a comment, I get the SQL error that says “Lost Connection to MySQL database”. Host says it was timing out and that I must have a problem with my tables. I timed the posting and it is about 15 or 20 seconds before the error pops up. Is that long enough to “time out’? If I try posting the comment again, sometimes 2 or 3 times, it will eventually get posted. My site is small with 89 posts and 269 comments. I am on shared hosting, but the host says there are no issues with the server. They do say I could upgrade to a dedicated server, but of course that is more money.
I did “optimize” 11 tables using phpMyAdmin.
Any suggestions? If indexing is suggested, how do I do that using phpMyAdmin?
