Title: Error when moving directory on same server Last modified: August 22, 2016 --- # Error when moving directory on same server * [pulkys](https://wordpress.org/support/users/pulkys/) * (@pulkys) * [11 years, 1 month ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-when-moving-directory-on-same-server/) * I built my wordpress site in a subdirectory for [http://www.mysticacostarica.com](http://www.mysticacostarica.com) * Everything was built in [http://www.mysticacostarica.com/wordpress](http://www.mysticacostarica.com/wordpress) * (Currently there is a redirect pointing to the wordpress files, which is less than ideal because the URL still includes /wordpress/…) * I tried to move everything up one folder, to the main domain, and I checked in to see if I could log into the wp-admin or the wp-login.php and both give me this error: * “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/content/68/7040868/html/ wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 568” * And changing the site URL and site details through phpmyadmin don’t seem to resolve anything. * How can I port my files over and successfully get the site running in the main directory? * Thanks! If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause. * If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via [FTP or SFTP](https://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients), navigate to `/wp-content/themes/` and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.
