First thing first I would like to thank you @timnethersgmailcom and @vultan for your help. Your approach is the way to go when things go wrong.
Basically, after you sent the test results I’ve started to check and see why would a general request on index work just fine while an endpoint request will fails and notice some headers that were forwarded between endpoints which shouldn’t. Made some tweaks on both sides and it looks okay, as a first step.
Thank you all for your help.
Thanks so much, I’m happy to report that 5.2.1 seems to be working for me. Much appreciated!
I know this is now out of date, but for completeness sake I’ll share the response I got back from a2hosting:
Thank you for contacting A2 Hosting Support. We have ran the PHP curl script as mentioned in the wordpress.org post and it looks to have worked fine:

Wonderful, many thanks for the quick fix @deconf!
It looks like things were resolved 3 months ago but I just updated (GADWP) to 5.3.3 and I lost my tracking on the first three sites I updated until I realized what was happening. It’s been working fine until this recent update. Any thoughts? Just so I wouldn’t lose my tracking I temporarily disabled GADWP and loaded GA Google Analytics. Any help would be appreciated. 🙂
