Quickly created a post showing pictures and noticed an error under the title.

Error says “[gallery link=file” on the front page of the blog

Any way of getting rid of that?

That is not an error but its how WordPress works – in excerpts no html or shortcodes are parsed i.e they are not executed but printed out instead.

If you visit the actual full post http://www.oringmonkey.com/blog/?p=1 you’ll see the full gallery.

Oh ok, so it’s supposed to say [gallery link=file on the front page? odd. Thanks for the clarification

If you add “read more” under your text and before the gallery in the body of your post it will disappear off the front page. Kind of a dirty cheat but it will make it look better.

I wish there was a way to parse this text though because when I use captions in images or other things that appear first in the post it really looks bad with all those code segments. It should just remove them completely as it sometimes does with videos.
