Support » Plugin: Multisite Language Switcher » Error when activating plug in

  • Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

This plugin needs the activation of the multisite-feature for working properly. Please read this post if you don’t know the meaning.

I´ve read everything about networks and I dont think that I need one now, my site is too small and although I need it to be billingual and it would be great to be able to post diferent articles for each language, i belive a network is too much.

    What do I do???
Thank you so much for your support and help

My plugin just works if a multisite is installed. I’m sorry.

About small sites: My wife’s website is not that big but it’s a multisite installation. 😉

But Ive been adviced not to get a network multisite in other posts, cause the CAUSE of my site doesnt seem to apply:

    Don’t Use WordPress MultiSite

    This is what Im planning:
I have to build a site in English and in Spanish of my art and my photography. The fact is that I live in Buenos Aires, so I can offer my photography services just in this area.

But I want to promote my art world wide, and I offer my art work. on other platforms that make prodocts based on the users images.

Those products are only sold in USA and can be mailed around, but as you know, mailing is expensive, so the demografics of those products are mostly North America.

I´ve read about networks, but it seems to be that their are usefull wor way bigger sites. So I dont really know how to manage this billingual site I need.

Hope I explained it right. Thanks!
Really Appreciate your help on this!

Also: I cant seem to translate your wifes site: Im in chrome and when I get into it, theres a bar above that offers translation from german to any language, not spanish.

when I press the “translate” it does not translate, and the the bar says “this page has been translated” “translate from english to spanish” …and button is to go to original again.

The bar above comes not from the website. It’s something what’s shipped with Chrome.

The linked article is from 2011. Maybe the author has changed the opinion.

In my opinion a network is ideal for your needs. If you have running a website in 2 languages you have automatically also 2 groups of readers. It’s often not just about the language, there are a lot of other things like the date-format, currency, timezone and maybe the content too.

For example: My wife teaches German here in Italy. But publicity for a service like that makes no sense in Germany so she sells Italian there.
