Does this happen if you try again?

One of the potential causes is that your server doesn’t have enough space to download the (relatively small) update package. How’s the server doing on disk space?

    Hi Steven,
Thank you so much for your reply.
Tried again and again and still not working. It’s the very same error. The website is a presentation website with about 6 images, 2 plugins(top of page and cookies) and text apart from that. I can’t see how I’m running low on space. And the error doesn’t seem to be a server error in my opinion. Unless I’m missing something.
Got 2 other websites on the same hosting plan and the upgrade went just fine.
Please advise if you have other suggestions.
    Thanks

Do it manually. Download https://downloads.wordpress.org/release/en_GB/wordpress-5.0.3.zip and unzip locally.

Via FTP, delete all PHP files in the root of your site (except wp-config.php) and the directories wp-includes and wp-admin.

Unzipping will create a WordPress directory. Upload all files and directories within that local wordpress directory to your site.

Will try that, Thank you Steven
