 * Hi I am a newbie. I am trying to setup wordpress. I have set the database details.
   However, when i start up install.php it startups Dreamweaver.
 * Can anyone help please. Most apprecieated

 * Sounds like PHP isn’t switched on or isn’t configured properly.
 * Put this in a text file:
    `<?php phpinfo(); ?>` Save as info.php Upload it to
   your site’s root – then access it in your browser. If PHP is on it will show 
   all of the config parameters.

 * Make sure you’re actually serving the php file. You can’t just use File –> Open.
   You have to visit it through your browser so the PHP runs. Type in the actual
   URL where it is located.

 * Hi skoochie, can you give me an example of what to type in the url please. I 
   thought this would be the same as gile open as in the instructions. Thanks for
   your help

 * Do you actually, have a domain and a hosting package for your blog?
    Is the database
   set up at your host server? Are the WP files uploaded (via FTP) to that server?
 * Are you trying to access your installation in your browser like:
    [http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php](http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php)?(
   where, of course, example.com is replaced by your own domain name)
