Error: Shopping Cart Empty – but it's not

    I have set up Easy Digital Downloads at $0.00 for clients to download a free PDF. When I test it on my site it proceeds to check out and when I hit Download I get a error message saying that shopping cart is empty. This is after I hit Add to cart button.
    This error is common but is there an easy fix? I can’t find one.
    Is this a bug you need to fix?
    I’m running Wp 4.3 and use Firefox browser.
