Customer ordered from my store. Shipped via USPS back in December. Package never arrived.

Went to ship a replacement order via UPS. I get the following error when I try to buy and print the label:

A package in a Mexico shipment must have a Merchandise Description.
Click here and visit settings to update your payment settings and try again.

I have a complete Description for the items, and ship all the time using UPS.

I tried changing the Content Type from Merchandise to Other since that adds a text field where I could repeat the Description. Same error.

  • Hi @timthefoolman,

Thank you for reaching out. I completely understand how frustrating and damaging it can be for your business when a customer doesn’t receive their order, even after you’ve shipped it. It makes perfect sense that you’d want to send a replacement right away.

Regarding the original package, it may be worth contacting USPS for an update to avoid the possibility of both packages arriving later and causing confusion.

As for the error you’re encountering when trying to ship with UPS, could you please share a screenshot? That would help us better understand what’s going on and how to assist you further.

The embedded image above is a screen capture from the screen where you purchase the label.

I went in to attempt to generate the label again, something I’ve done at least 5 times.

    This time, it worked.

    Hi @timthefoolman,

Thank you for getting back. I looked through the thread but didn’t find an embedded video or image; however, I’m really glad to hear you were able to get the issue resolve, well done!

Based on your explanation, it’s likely the issue was related to caching either from the browser, your site, server, or CDN. If something similar happens again in the future, I recommend clearing all relevant caches first to see if that resolves it.

Thanks again for the update. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out. And if you’ve found the support helpful and are enjoying the features the plugin offers, a review would be greatly appreciated here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce-shipping/reviews/#new-post
