• “Error saving image attachment” when uploading to my wordpress website. This problem seemed to begin when I upgraded to 3.8 (from 3.5)
This subject has had a lot of attention –many posts. Even at that there doesn’t seem to be a single solution. There have been a lot of various approaches suggested on the wordpress forums, and I, as far as I know have tried all of them. One major issue pointed out on the forums is file ownership and permissions. I have chmoded wp-content folder to 777 even though I don’t like the idea. I have made sure that the apache2 owner is the same as the site owner and ftp user. I did this by chowning /etc/apache2 -(is this the correct way to do this?) When I try to upload a file using the browser upload utility –Media>addnew , browse for the file and hit the upload button– It seems that the upload is going ok but when I get to the media library I get the error message. I’m at my wits end and don’t know what else to try. I’m hoping someone out there has some ideas.
