# Error processing checkout. Please try again.

 * I have online stores and since the latest update the customers are not able to
   pay, they get this error message: “Error processing checkout. Please try again.”.
   This also resulted in many failed orders and many lost sales. I tried to deactivate
   all plugins, change the theme and update the PHP version, but still the same 
   error message.

   checkout page, I can describe a few of them:
 * 1. Network connectivity issues: Sometimes network connectivity issues may cause
   this error to appear. As a result, the checkout process may fail or timeout.
 * 2. Server issues: If the server is experiencing heavy traffic or if the server
   is down, the checkout process may fail, making visible this error.
 * 3. Plugin conflicts: If there are any plugin conflicts or compatibility issues,
   the checkout process may fail.
 * 4. Payment gateway issues: If there are any issues with the payment gateway or
   misconfigurations, the checkout process may fail.
 * 5. Incorrect billing or shipping information: If the billing or shipping information
   entered by the customer is incorrect, and this error may appear.
 * 6. Invalid coupon or discount codes: If the customer is using an invalid coupon
   or discount code.
