    Hello Everyone,

This add on looks excellent and I’m looking forward to using it. At the moment I am working on a fairly large eCommerce site (hosted on a VPS) that has quite a number of product images. The site is fairly slow so any improvement in this area I’m sure will be pretty significant.

At the moment, though, when I press “Bulk Smash Now” I get the following error:

Error posting to API: cURL error 6: Could not resolve host: smushpro.wpmudev.org; Name or service not known

I have tried searching but wasn’t able to find much for this particular error. Any help you could offer me will be very much appreciated.

    Darran

  • Hi @darranmcd,

    What VPS provider you’re on?

Can you possibly contact them to check if they are blocking any outgoing connections, as som hosts do that.

    Cheers

    Hi Umesh,

My VPS is with LCN.com. The odd thing is that when I tried to use it recently it seemed to work. Shortly after I made this thread it managed to smush some. Since this website has over 3000 images I decided to try out the trial for the pro version. Unfortunately I’m now back with the same problem. I could contact my provider, but would you have any idea why it seems not to work only periodically?

    Hi guys.
    Same issue with wp smush.

Probably some issue with DNS servers on your hosting, if you tell your hosts about the issue, they might come up with a quick fix on their setup.

    A quick update:

After my last message I decided to run Smush overnight. It worked great. There seemed to be 50 or more images that had the error but once those were skipped the process worked fine. On the free version this must have been what happened also, it worked but only after skipping the first ones, therefore it isn’t periodic.

Thank you for the help and this software!

    Darran
