# Error: PHP is not running

 * Wassup!
 * I’m kinda new at this whole WordPress using, I’ve read all about what there is
   to do in order to install and start with the whole making of the website but 
   here I am still at the first step.
 * I’m using a webhost from Mexico (it’s called “Triara”) I changed my platform 
   to Unix, so it could read and write php. I downloaded the latest version of wordpress
   and uploaded into my ftp uploader.
 * The problem is when I open my “install.php” file on the browser, doesn’t matter
   what I do it says “Error: PHP is not running,
    WordPress requires that your web
   server is running PHP. Your server does not have PHP installed, or PHP is turned
   off.”
 * I’m about to shoot myself in the face, cuz even the people at support from the
   website can’t tell me what’s wrong.
 * If you could help me I’d be more than thankful.

 * Do your hosts offer PHP? They should be able to answer that question.

 * Yup, They uploaded a php test file and I was able to read and run it.

 * They told me it was php5, but I’m not really sure, how can I check this?

 * You need to be running at least PHP 5.2.4 or WP won’t run. Again, your host should
   be able to provide the necessary info.
