# Error on the website, please help!

 * When I typed the url of my site this morning it shows this message error:
 * Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started
   at /home/content/94/5886794/html/wp-config.php:1) in /home/content/94/5886794/
   html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 890
 * I suppose this is an error on line 1 of the file wp-config.php, is this correct?
   How can I fix this if I don’t have access to the WordPress dashboard? And how
   to fix it? Thank you!

 * You have unexpected whitespace (either a space or an entire line) on line 1 of
   the `wp-config.php` file. See [this guide](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_do_I_solve_the_Headers_already_sent_warning_problem.3F)
   for more info.
 * Alternatively, replacing the file with one from a fresh download may resolve 
   the issue.

 * Thanks James, but how can I access the wp-config.php file if I cannot enter the
   WordPress dashboard? Do you know where I have to go instead? Thank you.

 * Access your server via [FTP or SFTP client](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients)
   and use a [plain text editor](http://codex.wordpress.org/Glossary#Text_editor)
   to edit the file remotely.

 * Contact your hosting provider and ask them for instructions on using FTP with
   your hosting account.

 * Thanks, but I guess I’m gonna call the developer, I’m not that expert on working
   with code and I’m scared I do something wrong.
