All plugins and WordPress are fully up-to-date.

    Thanks!

@pcmdv – it’s always possible that Contact Form 7 did not install or update correctly. This problem can occur if you carry out WordPress updates with an unstable internet connections.

You can delete the plugin folder at wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/ using FTP and install the plugin again. I recommend you to not use the Delete option on the Plugins page as this may erase all your CF7 forms.

Alternatively Health Check is a good way to check this on a live site. It’s planned to be made part of WordPress Core in coming releases.

    Thanks Neil,

I have reinstalled both the Contact Form 7 plugin and the Contact Form 7 Mailchimp Extension plugin.

The error appearred initially to persist but then I realised that we didn’t have a [your-name] entry field but MailChimp required that.

Once I added the [your-name] text field the error stopped. Looks like this is being forced now.

I hope that helps the others!

    Thanks!
