# Error on running install.php

 * I am getting this error message
    Warning: Unexpected character in input: ‘ in/
   home/greencon/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/functions-formatting.php on line
   295 I am not sure what is wrong. I have installed it on my hard disk and checked
   when everything seemed to be fine. Subir

 * Whichever file the error is being reported in, delete that one from the server
   and reupload it.
    It could be a fault on the upload process.

 * I tried that Podz, but it did not work. I told myself, if Podz can’t bail me 
   out, what on earth am I gonna do. 🙂
    So, I kept uploading and installing over
   and over again. I tried all possible permutations and combinations. It didn’t
   work. I tried it uploading on a different server; it still did not work. I deleted
   and created databases and users over and over again on this server and that. 
   It still wouldn’t work. :O My last resort was to try a different FTP client. 
   And guess what? It worked! There apparently something was wrong with WS FTP. 
   The uploading was fine with Cute FTP. I wonder why. The Auto Detect function 
   of WS FTP seems to have a bug. Cheers!
