error on line 1 at column 82: XML declaration

    I’m getting the following error with my sitemap.xml file

    error on line 1 at column 82: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document

    It appears that there is a bunch of extra white space being added to the start of the xml file.

    Any ideas as to what is adding the extra white space?

    I fixed the problem. It ended up being a custom plugin that was causing the issue.

    I get this error too error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
    Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

    How did you resolve it ?

    One of my custom plugins files had white space at the beginning of the file before the opening <?php tag, after I removed that it was all good
