# ERROR: Method not allowed

 * Hello,
 * I try to install the plugin “site kit”, but get this error “Method not allowed”
   and sometimes just redirect to the home page without any notification or message!
 * I try to reinstall the plugin, deactivate other plugins on the website and try
   to activate it from a new browser!
 * Any idea!

   the following troubleshooting steps:
    – Temporarily disable ModSecurity from 
   your web host if enabled – Check that your web host doesn’t restrict REST API
   requests. (Your WordPress REST API could also be disable via a plugin or function)–
   Temporarily disable any caching plugins or plugins with known compatibility limitations
   from the plugins website [documentation](https://sitekit.withgoogle.com/documentation/fix-common-issues/)

   the following:
    – Your web hosting provider – Any search console errors that

   up with you in relation to your previous issue with Site Kit setup. We have made
   some significant updates to the plugin as of version [1.1.2](https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-site-kit/),
   which addresses the issue you were encountering.
