Error Message won't go away

    I get this error message

    W3 Total Cache Error: Files and directories could not be automatically created to complete the installation.

    I opt to manually execute the command

    /** Enable W3 Total Cache */
define('WP_CACHE', true); // Added by W3 Total Cache

    by SSHing into my Ubuntu hosted server on AWS EC2

    However, the error message still has not gone away.

    Any pointers?

    The reason I installed W3 Total Cache was to follow the instructions laid out
    here
    I tested the mirror and it passed so I am not sure if the above mentioned problem is really an issue…
