Error message when updating Plugins

    When I click the button to <check for updated plugins> i get this message.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_init() in /var/www/blogs/weiyen/wp-content/plugins/pluginstaller/utils.php on line 27

    Does anyone know what that means?
