  • In addition, when I click drop down of user names link, nothing happens.

I am also having this issue.

We were able to resolve this issue. If you have a git repo that we can submit a patch to let me konw.

    Hi Alex,

I do not have a git repo – is there anyway you could just send over the complete and updated plugin file such as I can upload it please? Perhaps via my email address

    Kind Regards,

Hi, any progress on this? Have just run afoul of this problem with a customer’s site.

@alex Vasquez, did you find somewhere to post your fix?

Grateful for some help with this one.

    Same problem – any solution?

Same problem here. It is possible to modify or add the database entries manually by converting IP-ranges with something like this to get around the problem until a fix to the plugin is made:

    – – –

    Debug info for author:
The php errors that show up are:
mysql_real_escape_string(): Access denied for user ”@’localhost’ (using password: NO)
mysql_real_escape_string(): A link to the server could not be established
mysql_real_escape_string(): The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the future: use mysqli or PDO instead
All errors show origin of wp-content/plugins/ip-based-login/ip-based-login.php:223

Sorry for the delay in checking this issue.

@alex Vasquez Is it possible to email me the fix at admin[@]wpinspired[.]com
We have not created a github repo yet.

@matiase Thanks for pointing towards this. It looks like this is due to update PHP version in which mysql extension is deprecated.

We will handle this and release an update soon.

Hi, Just wondering how this is going. I have just downloaded your plugin as its exactly what I need but am getting errors as initial post. Is there an ETA for when this will be resolved? I am trying to work out if I need to search for another solution for IP login.

I will be more than happy to donate if this issue is resolved as there is nothing else available to do the same thing.

You can work-around the issue by removing “mysql_real_escape_string” from the “sanitize_variables” variables function.

Not sure, whats WordPress current method of SQL escaping string is – this would need to be checked.

Like endureweb, I am also willing to donate to ensure that this plugin stays updated as there is no substitute to it.

Thanks @yanky83 – Removing that line from the array worked for me.

The select user drop down still doesn’t work tho!

I’m also getting this problem – any news on a fix?

I have no dropdown menu and am getting the same message as the first poster:

Please fix the below errors :
    * The username does not exist (I tried entering it manually, didn’t work)
    * Please provide a valid start IP (I did)
    * Please provide a valid end IP (I did)

    How do we donate?

I will also donate if this plugin can get fixed. Need it for a project and there’s nothing else like it out there!

    @robsarna, @matiase, @endureweb @lindakristianssen

I’ve emailed Brijesh, the developer to see if there’s a fix but I also noticed that ALex Vasquez has a fix so I am going to email him and see if we can get any movement on this fix. Will advise when I hear anything.
