# Error message re: cache, hash

 * I copied a tabular block from a development site and pasted it into the production
   site. I also tried editing the text of the Add to Cart buttons, for example changing
   2018 to 2021 in the product name.
 * Initially, I got one or two instances of a nonce error message. I then got repeated
   errors citing cache-related issues, possible changes to the button, hash violations.
   I looked at the page source and see that each shortcode includes 2 hash codes.
   The ones that I either edited, or even put in fully by hand, had different hash
   values than the originals. The problem persisted with the caching plugin disabled.
 * Some buttons worked (generally the unedited ones, but also some of the edited
   ones), most did not.
 * I copied the page source code for the buttons to Notepad++ and compared them.
   I did not see anything to flag as causing the error.
 * I did see discussions on this support forum about versions of PHP (I have 7.4),
   interference from other plugins, and doubled spaces, etc.
 * I finally ended up checking “Disable Price Check” for Add to Cart in Dashboard
   >SimpleCart>Settings in WordPress. I do not think that the Product Names I used
   are complex, which is what this option is labeled for. That worked. I am concerned,
   however, about whether that is safe or wise. Please comment.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Ferror-message-re-cache-hash%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Yes, this feature is safe to use. This feature was added to the plugin because
   we added more validation to the plugin which can cause issues with some special
   characters in the product name.
 * Kind regards.

 * Thank you.
    I’m glad it’s safe. I do not have any special characters in the product
   name. What else could have been causing the problems?

 * Hi, can you share an example of a product name you are currently using?

 * Sorry to not respond immediately. The server went into an error state and I can’t
   access the site. It’s been that way almost all day. I will share some of the
   product names as soon as possible.

 * Back in business. Here are some product names:
    name=”JRNL Cover B&W 2021″ name
   =”JRNL Full B&W 2021″ name=”JRNL Quarter Color 2021″
 * These are very typical of the ones I used.

 * Hi, the names you shared above can cause this issue especially the `&` and `]`.
 * Thank you.

 * OK, thanks.
    I will stop using the &. I did not use any square brackets (]).
   That’s a capital J.
