    Dear plugin developers,

I see that you are actively improving the plugin in the last weeks and months. I was facing different errors, but with every update I am one step close to being able to connect my shop to facebook. Sadly, after weeks of effort, it is still not possible.

After following the whole connection process the following error is displayed:

    ========== copy/paste ==========
    “Oops, something went wrong.
This may be because of a technical error that we’re working to get fixed. Try reloading this page.”
    ======== end copy/paste ========

I decided to report the issue this time and to provide you with more information for the error I looked at the console. The following error appeared in one of the responses:

    ========== copy/paste ==========
Invalid values provided for variables of operation “PlatformBusinessOauthDialogUnifiedFBEDataSetupView_CreateFBEMutation”: Value “Array of size 16 starting with: { client_mutation_id => “1” }” cannot be used for variable “$input”: Field “config” has value of invalid type: Field “setup” has value of invalid type: Field “currency” has value of invalid type: There is no value named “BGN” in this enum.
    ======== end copy/paste ========

It is clear to me what is the problem – my shop used BGN for its currency, but for some reason “BGN” does not appear to be valid currency for facebook :/

I suppose that it is not the plugin that is causing the problem, but the facebook system behind the API. Still, since this is an official facebook plugin, maybe you can report the problem “officially” and help.

    Kind regards

  • I also get this error,
I have contacted facebook business and its a plugin issue not them.

The issues is the return from facebook to a woocommerce store.

    Hi @sveslavchev and @daviddabest,

Thanks for reaching out about Facebook for WooCommerce! I’ll be happy to help.

The “Oops, something went wrong.” message is one that we have been receiving similar reports of from other users, after updating to version 2.0. The team over at Facebook is looking into this on their end, and our team is working closely with theirs to get a resolution out for this as quickly as possible. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience that this is causing!

In the meantime, you can downgrade to the previous version to get back up and running. To use the older version, please deactivate and delete the plugin, then upload and activate this version:

    https://cloud.skyver.ge/yAuboD79

Because you are reverting back to the old version you will have to set up the plugin and re-connect to Facebook, so please head to WooCommerce > Settings > Integration > Facebook for WooCommerce to set up the plugin.

Please keep an eye on the following announcement for more information on this issue and to keep updated on any new developments:

    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/using-facebook-for-woocommerce-2-0/

Can I help with anything else in the meantime?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi @jenskyverge,

Thanks for your fast response. I followed your advice and spent some time with the old plugin (v1.11.4) and it worked well. The plugin version for me is not so important if the pixel works properly. That’s all I need on my website.

That said I hope that soon you will manage to make the new v2 of the plugin more stable and that we all could benefit the better security, better interface and more functionality.

    All best

    Hi @sveslavchev,

I’m glad to hear that the older version worked for you while we were getting this fixed! We just put out a new release today, version 2.0.1. Could you please try updating to this version and let me know if you are able to connect successfully?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi @jenskyverge,

I have just tried the new version (Version 2.0.1) and the connection still cannot be made, receiving the same error as before:

    “Oops, something went wrong.
This may be because of a technical error that we’re working to get fixed. Try reloading this page.”

    I have noticed 2 things:

    1. The error in the console is the same as before:
Message: “Invalid values provided for variables of operation “PlatformBusinessOauthDialogUnifiedFBEDataSetupView_CreateFBEMutation”: Value “Array of size 16 starting with: { client_mutation_id => “1” }” cannot be used for variable “$input”: Field “config” has value of invalid type: Field “setup” has value of invalid type: Field “currency” has value of invalid type: There is no value named “BGN” in this enum.”
    2. The pixel which I want to use is not in the list of available pixels

    Hi Svet,

Sorry to hear that you’re still running into issues with the current version!

You mentioned that the pixel you want to use is not available to select – currently, only Personal Ad Account pixels can be selected through the plugin setup window. Pixels created through Business Manager will not be available. Could you please confirm if the pixel that you’re looking for was created through a personal ad account or through Business Manager?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi @jenskyverge,

Yes, the pixel which I am talking about is created through the Business Manager (as far as I can remember).

Do you plan to update the plugin and to include support also for the pixels created through the Business Manager? In my Business Manager account all pixels look the same to me 🙂

    Hi @jenskyverge,

have you investigated further the problem with the currency I reported previously, the error message in one of the requests:

Message: “Invalid values provided for variables of operation “PlatformBusinessOauthDialogUnifiedFBEDataSetupView_CreateFBEMutation”: Value “Array of size 16 starting with: { client_mutation_id => “1” }” cannot be used for variable “$input”: Field “config” has value of invalid type: Field “setup” has value of invalid type: Field “currency” has value of invalid type: There is no value named “BGN” in this enum.”

I believe that this error message, in my specific case, is showing the real problem.

    All best

    Svet

    Hi @sveslavchev,

I’m so sorry for the delayed reply! We currently have a higher than normal volume of support requests are are working hard to help as quickly as possible.

I’m afraid that I don’t have an update on supporting the Business Manager pixel. Regarding the error that you’re seeing, I’m running this by our team to take a closer look at.

In the meantime, I’d also like to try resetting the plugin back to a fresh install, removing the existing settings. You can do so by installing this small plugin we’ve created. This will add a new tool available at WooCommerce > Status > Tools called “Reset Facebook for WooCommerce settings”. Please click the Reset Settings button here, and then navigate back to the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin settings screen to connecting again.

Could you please let me know if you are able to reconnect afterwards?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi @jenskyverge,

I installed the plugin “Facebook for WooCommerce – settings tools” and made the reset. Then I started the process and I had faced the following two problems:

    1. I was unable to select the desired facebook page. There was a tooltip showing the following message: “Page is already associated with a Commerce Account and cannot be moved to a different Business Manager”. I even do not know what is a “Commerce Account”. If this was the only problem I would have investigated the error further. Sadly there was another problem [2], for which I had no solution, so I canceled the process.

    2. The pixel which I wanted to use was not in the list of available pixels

I decided to cancel the process, since I didn’t want to mess up the statistics of other non-related pages just for the test. Then installed the old version of the plugin and the pixel online now.

    Hi @sveslavchev,

I’m sorry that you were running into these additional issues!

Since you mentioned previously that the pixel was created through Business Manager, this is likely why it wasn’t displayed there, since the plugin currently only supports pixels created through a personal ad account.

Would it be possible to send me a screenshot of the “Page is already associated with a Commerce Account…” message? To clarify, it sounds like you have currently downgraded to the previous version and are connected again to Facebook – is this correct?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi @sveslavchev,

It has been a while since we heard from you, so I’m going to mark this topic as resolved. If you’re still experiencing issues please take a look at our documentation for more information and create a new thread if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

    (@sveslavchev)

    Hi @jenskyverge,

Since the plugin does not support all pixels, it is not an option for me. For example, I manage a website that uses a “shared” pixel. I do not know how the pixel was created and it is not important to me. I expect to be able to use it if the needed permissions are provided to me.

I will update the plugin to its next version, only when it supports all pixels. I think that most of the plugin users will do the same.

P.S. The old version works with the shared pixel and does a good job, with only small bugs and some errors in the pixel code.

    All best

    Svet

    Hi Svet – @sveslavchev,

Thanks for keeping us updated! It sounds like you were using a pixel that was created through the Business Manager. With the latest version of the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin, these are now supported!

If version 1.11.x is working for you, I understand being hesitant to update to the latest version. If you do decide to update to 2.x, please let us know if you have any questions!

    Thanks,
    Marcus

I started getting this issue in April 2020, to date i keep getting this error message when i tried to connect fb to woocommerce. i cleared all my previous catalogs just to make sure everything will look fresh. i created a new catalog by trying to connect fb to woocommerce again but the same message appeared. Though the catalog was registered successfully, the connection was interrupted.I hope you fix this issue soon
