error message on post

I receive this error message at the top of my post when I use the plugin-

Image format not supported: image/bmp
Problem detected on file: /var/chroot/home/content/46/5573546/html/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/little.bmp

Any suggestions on how to get rid of it or what causes it?
