# error message on install

 * I’m very, very new to all of this and would like to say thanks in advance for
   your help. I’m getting this message:

    define(‘WP_INSTALLING’, true); if (!file_exists(‘../wp-config.php’)) die(“
   There doesn’t seem to be a `wp-config.php` file. I need this before we can get
   started. Need more help? [We got it](http://wordpress.org/docs/faq/#wp-config).
   You can [create a `wp-config.php` file through a web interface](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-message-on-install-2/setup-config.php?output_format=md),
   but this doesn’t work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create
   the file.”);
 * when trying to install. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you again,

 * You have to edit your wp-config-sample.php to reflect your database info.
    Then
   you need to rename it to wp-config.php and upload it to your WP root.

 * Hi again,
 * Just wanted to say thanks and to let you know that this was a problem with my
   host. I called them and he noticed that .php seemed not to be working and found
   out why. He enabled it and everything seems to be working fine now. Thank you
   again,
