# Error message. Need help fast

 * So recently I have tried to upgraded to wordpress 3.1 I did everything correctly,
   but now I can no longer log in. An “error 500” comes up. Problem is I am extremely
   busy and am not good with computers. Does anyone know of a really dumbie proof
   way of fixing this issue?
 * I have also checked the config.php 5 times. Everything is correct.

 * Have you tried:
 * – checking through [Troubleshooting WordPress 3.1 – Master List](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/troubleshooting-wordpress-31-master-list)
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a **fresh** download
   of WordPress.

 * Deactivating through FTP didn’t work. I can’t log in so I can’t switch to Twenty
   Ten. I reuploaded a new wp-admin and wp-includes. Nothing. Nothing is happening
   at all. Exact same error message.

 * rename the twentyten theme folder to whatever your current theme is named.
