    Hi,

I am au fait with WordPress but a total Noob to scripting languages and server configuration.

My problem is I am getting the following error message from the ‘WordFence weekly activity notice in my WordPress dashboard:

Warning: inet_pton(): Unrecognized address 84.92.80.1-240 in /home/uniquename101/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wfUtils.php on line 126

Steps I have taken to clear the error message are:
    1. Deactivated all plugins
    2. reinstalled Wordfence.
    3. disabled cron jobs via wp-config as recommened by some othe posts

The WordPress plugin version is 0.6.1
    Wordpress version is WordPress 4.2.2
Operating system on the servere is Linux.

Please can you point me in the right direction to get this error cleared? Thanks in advance.

  • This error was fixed several versions ago. Please update to the latest version (6.0.7) and let me know if the error persists. It had to do with your server’s version of php being unsupported and outdated. That probably needs to be addressed by your webhost.

    Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry, I have made a typographic error above. The Wordfence version already IS 6.0.7. And the PHP Version is 5.5.24.

The problem is now resolved. It seems the problem arose from an unagreeable IP range in the ‘Whitelisted IP addresses that bypass all rules’ field. I have cleared the field and as a result cleared the error. I guess I had either declared the IP range incorrectly or my IP address has changed.

    Thanks.
