 * You have conflicting plugins: Font & bwp-recaptcha. Delete one of them.

 * Thanks, esmi. Much appreciated. Problem solved. FYI, I removed bwp-recaptcha 
   first, but the problem persisted. I next removed Font — problem solved. Perhaps
   that means Font was the actual source of the problem, but I’m not using either
   of them anymore.
