I spent 15 minutes waiting for someone to answer the telephone on a premium call line, after having been charged 3 euros to be told that their telephone number has changed. So a posted a request for assistance 2 days on their site. No reply as yet. This has brought me back to my original problem. When I wish to make any changes via the Dashborad I get a spinning circle and when I click on “View Site” I get the HTTP 500 error message. Which means that you need to get support from your host. If they don’t answer your questions then you have the wrong host. * Use whatever file management your host provides and look in the root folder. The delay in responding to you has been due to a dialogue of the deaf with the host company OVH. After proposing several unfruitful solutions such as altering the .htaccess file, deleting the .htaccess file, changing passwords, they threw in the towel and admitted defeat. Left to my own devices, I decided to go back to square one. I deleted all the WP files via Filezilla and then deleted all the files on the database with phpMyAdmin. I then found an “add a module function” on the host’s Dashboard that directs to an auto setup for WP, Joomla and others. I clicked, it downloaded everything and I’m up and running.
