WordPress is telling you to either reinstall W3 Total Cache or remove the following files from wp-content:
advanced-cache.php
db.php
object-cache.php
Also, when you try to reinstall, the directory for W3 Total Cache is still there, so WordPress can’t install the plugin. Check wp-content/plugins/ to make sure the w3-total-cache directory is removed. If it isn’t, get rid of it and those three files, then try reinstalling the plugin.
I had this too. It was a nightmare.
You also have to check your .htaccess file and the wp-config.php. Remove all code regarding the W3Total Cache plugin in there.
here is a little tutorial:http://www.shoutmeloud.com/how-to-delete-uninstall-w3-total-cache-wordpress-plugin.html
I am having same problem , why don’t you just fix your plugin????
Remove the below portion from advanced-cache.php
global $w3tc_start_microtime;
$w3tc_start_microtime = microtime( true );
/**
* Abort W3TC loading if WordPress is upgrading
*/
if ( defined( ‘WP_INSTALLING’ ) && WP_INSTALLING )
return;
if ( !defined( ‘W3TC_IN_MINIFY’ ) ) {
if ( !defined( ‘W3TC_DIR’ ) ) {
define( ‘W3TC_DIR’, ( defined( ‘WP_PLUGIN_DIR’ ) ? WP_PLUGIN_DIR : WP_CONTENT_DIR . ‘/plugins’ ) . ‘/w3-total-cache’ );
}
if ( !@is_dir( W3TC_DIR ) || !file_exists( W3TC_DIR . ‘/w3-total-cache-api.php’ ) ) {
if ( defined( ‘WP_ADMIN’ ) ) { // lets don’t show error on front end
echo sprintf( ‘W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove %s. <br />’, __FILE__ );
}
} else {
require_once W3TC_DIR . ‘/w3-total-cache-api.php’;
$w3tc_redirect = \W3TC\Dispatcher::component( ‘Mobile_Redirect’ );
$w3tc_redirect->process();
$w3tc_config = \W3TC\Dispatcher::config();
if ( $w3tc_config->get_boolean( ‘pgcache.enabled’ ) ) {
$o = \W3TC\Dispatcher::component( ‘PgCache_ContentGrabber’ );
$o->process();
}
}
}
Everything will work Fine – Guaranteed
Hi, we have the same kind of problem. Wordfence deleted some toxic files, and aparently one of those was from W3TC..
Now we get this: /mnt/web001/a0/73/57248673/htdocs/WordPress_SecureMode_03/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.
But the whole plugin is gone. It isn’t in installed plugins anymore, so I can’t find the advanced-cache.php.
Also can’t reinstal the plugin.
Anyone know what to do?
Thanks in advance!
