  • Hello, I was hoping that someone could help me. I am self hosted ( http://www.paleowithmrsp.com ) and each time I try to log on to my blog through the back end of it (on .com/admin) I then get an error
    message:

Warning: include(/home3/ab66250/public_html/wp-content/themes/forever/inc/updater.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home3/ab66250/public_html/wp-content/themes/forever/functions.php on line 652

Warning: include(): Failed opening ‘/home3/ab66250/public_html/wp-content/themes/forever/inc/updater.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/opt/php54/lib/php’) in /home3/ab66250/public_html/wp-content/themes/forever/functions.php on line 652

I then have to log in through http://www.paleowithmrsp.com/login and I then continue to get this message on the dashboard at the top:

Warning: include(/home3/ab66250/public_html/wp-content/themes/forever/inc/updater.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home3/ab66250/public_html/wp-content/themes/forever/functions.php on line 652

This keeps coming up and I can no longer write my blogs /add media or do anything or make any changes to anything.

I am completely lost on what to do, I haven’t downloaded anything on it recently and it’s most odd. The blog itself looks fine online http://www.paleowithmrsp.com

Any help would be so greatly received. Thank you.

  • I just noticed this too on a site I maintain that has used the Forever theme, for a couple of years. So far I don’t see any issues on the site, but it looks like updating themes is no longer possible thanks to this issue.

I made a quick testbed and installed the latest version of Forever on a brand new WP install and got the same error. I’m assuming it’s a bad theme update (which I’m pretty sure I nonchalantly clicked through the other day).

I’m going to try downloading a new theme manually and seeing if I can get my site back right. If not, then I’ll fall back to a 21 day old backup and make sure not to update the theme!

Disappointed because I’m used to Forever now. Oh well.

I noticed that my Media Library was not opening and I assumed it to be related to the bad theme. I tried manually installing Forever 1.2.2 but the results were not satisfactory. I have now reverted my site to my 21 day old DB backup and it is functioning properly with the un-updated version of Forever. I have lost a few minor modifications but nothing I can’t replicate in an hour or so. I guess I’ve learned my lesson; I always assumed theme updates would be somewhat innocuous but I will now be sure to back up my site before any Theme, plug-in or WP updates. OP, good luck in resolving your issue. Hopefully the developer will come forward with a patch soon and you won’t have to go through what I did.

The theme author already acknowledged this error and the new fixed update is on the way, please see this thread in Forever sub forum.

Thank you, hopefully there will be a solution soon then!
