Support » Fixing WordPress » Error message after removing plugin

  • Hello. We had two plugins (wordfence and rename-login) which we had to take off as our host felt they were not compatible with our hosting package. But I am getting a weird message which says

Notice: Undefined variable: plugin_loginsecurity in <b>/var/sites/m/ourdomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/rename-wp-loginphp-to-anything-you-want/init.php</b> on line 492

I don’t know the plugin loginsecurity. I can only presume it was something installed by the host when they were helping us with previous issues or its something to do with Wordfence.

Either way none of these plugins exists on our website and are not showing in the Plugins folder. We do not have a cache plugin running either. How on earth can a non-existent plugin be showing an error message regarding a deleted plugin? How can I remove this message?

  • Have you asked your host to confirm whether it was something they added?

Is it not something connected with the rename-login plugin you have used? If it is, posting in the relevant support area of the plugin you used could bring a positive response form the author perhaps?
