First, I don't remember which 3 point version of WP I am using because I am locked out of my site and admin page. Being a newbie, it has been both very difficult and even confusing posting a topic on this forum. It is not easy. Now I believe my version of WP is a 3.0 version, (once again, I am not quite sure since I can't get into my admin page) I was instructed by someone from another group to go to my godaddy FTP File and add this code and follow these instructions to get my site up and running again.
Add these two lines to the file, immediately after the initial “<?php” line.
(Use your own URL instead of example.com.)
I followed these instructions, got into my FTP File and added the code with my url. I then updated the page and got this message when I attempted to login per the instructions.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '*' in /home/content/62/8652662/html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2
Can anyone give me advice on how to get my site back up?
