Error make new entries

  • Occasionally when I make a new entry, the browser pauses for several minutes (during which the new post _is_ visible), and then gives me this error:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /net/users/a32/045/jesperjuuldk/www/ludologist/b2-include/b2functions.php:1011) in /net/users/a32/045/jesperjuuldk/www/ludologist/wp-admin/b2edit.php on line 120

The pause after making a post is probably trying to ping weblogs.com, blo.gs, and possibly pingback and trackback any urls in the post.
If there are any errors during that process, you may well get an error message output to the browser, but then the page tries to reditect back to the post/edit page, which now fails because of the error output.
In summary, it is an intermediate error during ping/trackback. We will be looking at a slightly different method of executing this functionality which will be more resilient for a future version of WordPress.
