    Hi there!

The error message “Error: Invalid response from API” usually means there’s an issue with how your site is communicating with the WooCommerce REST API. This can happen due to conflicts with security or caching plugins, outdated versions of WordPress or WooCommerce, or even a theme or plugin conflict.

I tried to replicate the issue on your site, and the search function appears to be working fine. It seems like a caching issue. To troubleshoot, please try clearing your browser cache and testing the search in a private/incognito window.

Let me know how that goes.

I have set the search results to “WooCommerce products”, but the search results always display user-generated POSTs.  How can i fix WooCommerce REST API problem?

    Hi @mervyntsao,

I understand how confusing it can be when things don’t seem to work as expected. I’ve also taken some time to search on your site, and from my end, everything appears to be functioning normally.

Just to clarify, this forum focuses on issues related to WooCommerce core. In this case, the behavior you’re experiencing seems to be related to your theme, as it typically controls how search queries, search pages, and results are displayed.

Have you had a chance to contact your theme developer about this? They may be in the best position to help further.

The7 theme team says it’s not the theme problem.

Sometimes the search function prompt “Error: Invalid response from API”, but this is not the key point. The point is the search result don’t display woocomerce products(Even through i set display woocomerce product only.)

    Hi there,

I’ve checked the search form on your site, and it appears you’re using a custom search form, likely provided by your theme or a third-party plugin. This isn’t part of WooCommerce core functionality.

I tried to replicate the issue on my own test site using the default WooCommerce setup, and everything is working correctly on my end — product search results are appearing as expected.

Since the search form on your site is custom, I would recommend reaching out to your theme developer or the plugin support team responsible for the search functionality. They’ll be in the best position to help you resolve this.

As my colleague mentioned, we’re only able to provide support for default WooCommerce features. Customizations or features added through third-party themes or plugins fall outside the scope of support here.

To confirm whether the issue is related to WooCommerce or not, you can try the following:

    • Set up a staging site,
    • Deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce,
    • Activate a default WordPress theme like Storefront,
Then test the search again. If it works correctly in that environment, the issue is likely related to your theme or another plugin.

Let us know how it goes!

    Hi there!

Just to check — has the issue been resolved on your end? If so, could you please share what was causing the problem? This could help other users facing a similar issue find a solution here.
