  • error in main site creation

What you described in your post is NOT an error, but your misunderstanding of what a subdomain is.

A “subdomain” is always one level up relative to the parent domain.

If you start off with example.com, a subdomain of that would be sub.example.com.

If you start off with sub.example.com, a sub-domain of that would be sub.sub.example.com — and that’s exactly what WordPress is doing for you.

So if you want to have your Multisite addresses to be mysite1.example.com, mysite2.example.com, mysite3.example.com, etc — the primary WordPress multisite installation should use example.com, and NOT mysite.example.com as you’re doing now.

    Good luck!
