error in debug.log after upgrade

    after the wordpress upgrade in december i can’t keep the user logged in.. it disconnects after some seconds browsing any wordpress page (frontend or backend)..

    and the only error i get in my debug is:
    Trying to get property of non-object in /web/htdocs/www.*MYSITE*.com/home/wp-content/plugins/wp-w3all-phpbb-integration/class.wp.w3all-phpbb.php on line 1320

    at that 1320 line i can see:

    if( $phpbb_pae->user_password != $wpu->user_pass && !empty($phpbb_pae->user_password) ){

    how can i solve the problem?
    i can’t use the site anymore, if i disable all the plugins it starts to work, but when i enable again your plugin i can’t stay logged anymore…

    Wp-W3all version 2.0.3
    wordpress version: 5.3.2

    in backend after browsing some minutes the login popup appears telling me:
    Your session has expired. Please log in to continue where you left off.

    hi there, so line 1320 error as you get, seem to be related to the fact, that you try to login as default install admin uid2 in phpBB, but the install admin uid do not exists in wordpress?
    This is it your case?

    About inconsistent login, how you setup time for cookies in phpBB (if you login also via phpBB)?
    settings:
    “Remember Me” login key expiration length (in days): 365
    Allow “Remember Me” logins: yes
    Validate browser: yes

    If you login in wp side, you should have a long time cookie released (1 year valid), despite any other setting into phpBB and despite you set or not the remember me option onlogin

    p.s about uid 1 wp and 2 in phpBB, looking into code also to minor fix for something else:
    they need to exists, if using admin of phpBB UID2, or wp admin UID1 that are linked even with different usernames.

    So, if this is the case (uid1 in wp or uid 2 in phpBB not exists), set to YES into plugin admin, the option: Exclude WP userID 1 and phpBB userID 2 association

    Browsing only the phpbb give me no logouts.. if i come back on wp i get the problem, and it logs me out of the forum too..

    ok, i just set the 365 days in the expiration days (it was 0)

    about the uid, my account (admin) is id1 on wp table and id3 on phpBB (id2 is missing)

    and the option Do not associate/link the WP userID 1 and phpBB userID 2 in Exclude WP userID 1 and phpBB userID 2 association was already selected

    OK! Check that the login now will not expire, and you’re on the way!

    Yes this is the reason. You can unlink as option the id 1 in wp and uid2 in phpBB.
    Then may setup the user username in wp, that correspond to the username admin phpBB uid3 that you commonly use into phpBB, to be admin in WP side also!

    i just tried to change the uid of the phpbb admin to 2.. and then reactivated the association of wp uid1 and phpbb uid2 and now the logout problem disappeared
    but i get another problem:
    I can’t open any page when logged in.. let me explain, any page i open it opens the main index.. if i logout all the links work again

    Could you substitute files of 2.0.3 with these files, of patched 2.0.3 to fix this issue? Could so you test some while, and let know if all working fine now for you?

    i don’t have the error anymore, but i’m getting the old problem:
    when the uid association setting is on, the login will stay, i can browse any wp backend page without logouts.. but on the frontend i can’t load any page, every link i open i get the index..

    if i disable the uid association setting, i still have the logouts but i can open any page without problems (but it disconnects me every page loading)

    ps: ho letto che sei italiano, siccome non è semplice da spiegare, possiamo parlarne anche in madrelingua 😀

    Ho testato il codice loggandomi come admin uid1 e l’install admin phpBB non esistente, e tutto funziona. Sostanzialmente come è il tuo scenario e il fatto che sul frontend l’utente venga disconnesso è strano, anzi teoricamente non ha apparentemente senso. Quale è il tuo sito? Se non vuoi postarlo qui magari usa il contact form su axew3.com
    Veramente strano. Quando appare il form login in admin, se fai il refresh della pagina da browser invece di inserire i dati, ti logga out?

    Grazie della disponibilità e della professionalità.. questo plugin è fantastico..

    nel pannello admin non mi caccia subito ma dopo qualche secondo… nel sito principale è praticamente fulmineo, mi loggo, aggiorno e torno sloggato..

    purtroppo tutti i problemi mi son nati dopo l’upgrade di woocommerce e wordpress (che ho fatto assieme).. son due mesi che ci sto dietro e dopo i fix fatti da te, forse son riuscito a capire la causa ed è al 50% woocommerce che mi ha fatto saltare qualcosa..

    ti terrò aggiornato e grazie ancora
