error getting calendar file

I recently moved my site to a new host and ever since the plugin can’t find the calendar file. it says it’s just pulling from cached data and there is a exclamation point above the sidebar widget. any thoughts on what might be making this happen?

It may be that your new host doesn’t offer the same functionality.
When you click on or over the exclamation mark what does it say ?

It could just be timing out.
How would you rate your new host vs your old host ?

the exclamation point says: Warning: Events may be out of date. Error getting calendar file with http or curl http://mail.ugmtc.org/owa/calendar/GCalendar@ugmtc.org/Calendar/calendar.ics…Using File last cached at Tue 2017-01 10T21:03:29-06:00

I am checking with my new host, so far the service has been good. I have asked them to increase the timeout limit to 300…maybe that will help? not sure. I validated the link through the two sites you recommended, so the link is good.

my localhost fetches that ics url pretty quickly so problem is not on that end.

Sounds like it is something specific to new server, and not to the url. (You could try other urls to double verify that)

The fetch is made with wordpress’es wp_remote_get (http api) which tries both curl and file_get_contents, depending what the local server has available.

sorry can’t help more than that.

you could also try searching on wp_remote_get errors and see if something sounds like your system.
