I am experiencing an problem in my Site Kit for the last 3 months.

Everytime when i enter the Site Kit main dashboard, none of the statistics are loaded due to a 500 server response for an request of Site Kit to the wp-json api.

Here is how my dashboard looks like:

    Here is the console errors:
    https://gustoppen.com.br/personal/console.png

In console we can see that has is a pattern in the errors:
    1) Site Kit try to get my website data through wp-json API, but, when he try to do it the server answer the request with a 500 status
    2) Site Kit front-end show an generic error “error establishing database connection”

    Notes:
When i access the wp-json request through console i see this screen:
    https://gustoppen.com.br/personal/wp-json.png
There is no problem in my database connection
I am PHP developer, if i need, i can look inside the code to seek out for problems
I already have reinstalled and reconfigurate the Site Kit with the default wordpress theme and no other plugins, so, the problem its only on the plugin.

This is my website health check:

@gustoppen Many thanks for sharing the additional details. We’ve checked the details provided and while no obvious issues stand out from your Site Health information I am able to access your publicly access REST endpoints.

In order to troubleshoot the issues you’re encountering can you perform the below steps, which can help rule out any third party plugin related issues:

    1. Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    5. Attempt to view your dashboards within Site Kit once more

If the same occurs please share any browser console errors that appear and we can check this further. As you’re also encountering .htaccess and REST related issues evident from your Site Health status we can perform some additional troubleshooting steps once we have these additional insights.

Yesterday a database connection error appeared in my website, so, maybe we can investigate for problems in the way that Site Kit communicates with the database.

I deactivated the troubleshooting, now i am waiting for your response, so we can continue the investigation.

Thanks for performing the additional checks, while also sharing screenshots of your console errors. The console errors show cURL time and 500 errors, indicating there may be something at host level which requires inspection. Do you have any other sites on the same hosting platform which you can check with? As you’re using Hostinger you may be able to setup a quick clean WordPress install. From there you can try to setup Site Kit on this particular site.

Alternatively you can perform a cURL command below to check if your site is able to communicate with the Site Kit service at host level.
    curl -I https://sitekit.withgoogle.com

Let me know once you check the above.

Many thanks for going to the effort of setting up another site and performing that check. As this same issue isn’t occurring on this new site there are a couple of additional checks we can perform. The first check is to perform a reset of the plugin (Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings > Reset Site Kit). Note that this will result in you having to all connected users having to reconnect the various modules once more unfortunately. As it looks like you’re the only connected user this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

If the same issue occurs if it’s not too much trouble can you record the same Health Check & Troubleshooting steps mentioned above, while keeping your browser console tab open? You can use a service such as recordit.co or loom.com to share a screen recording.

One I have the above video recoding I’ll open a GitHub issue to troubleshoot this further while also checking with the team.

@gustoppen Checking in here – are you able to share a video of this issue with us? This will really help with our troubleshooting. Thank you!

@gustoppen As we haven’t received a response, I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist. Thank you!
