Error Establishing a Database connection

When I try to run the install.php i get this error message:

“This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at p50mysql259secureservernet. This could mean your host’s database server is down.”

I’ve double checked the username and password information, it is correct. I think the problem could be that it is not getting the “.” between “server” and “net.” The dot is there in the wp-config.php file. Anyone have any idea of how to fix this?
