• Please help..

Im trying to edit the password of the web editor of my site. I have access thru domain hosting and phpmyadmin.. i tried to replace the password by following the wordpress guidelines at:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password”

but after ive followed it, this message appear when i try to browse my site
    “error establishing a database connection”

Is there a way to know what changes i made in the phpmyadmin that goes wrong? is there a way to reset, or to undo the changes i made (just made the changes yesterday)

  • I have no idea what ‘password of the web editor’ mean, but the instructions you followed are for resetting your wordpress user password.

Hi WhiteScreenOfDeath, i mean i want to change the main account password of my wordpress, it is owned by my web editor.

But since i have the account of the domain hosting, i want to edit that wordpress account and password. I was able to follow the guidelines at:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password”

but then after ive followed it, this message appear when i try to browse my site
    “error establishing a database connection”

Using those instructions you should never have been able to do anything that would affect your database password. The two are 100% different, and the databse password can’t normally be changed from phpMyAdmin.

I would suggest the best thing to do would be to ask your hosting company about this and see if they can help. It sounds more like a problem with the hardware side of things than the software.
